We are 5 days away from the due date! I am so excited to meet little Lachlan soon. He will be here before we know it. I can tell he is almost ready, he just needs a little bit more time to cook.
It has been a really really long time since I have posted anything. We have been very busy getting ready for this kiddo to come. We have almost everything ready! His room is painted and so is our hallway, his crib and changing table will be finished this week, so we can put them in his room and start getting the room ready. We are renting the birthing pool and I will get it at my 37 week appointment, which is in 2 weeks, we have the birthing kit and everything we need for the room where he will be born. I am getting so excited! Trever let me go ahead and quit my job so that I can enjoy the last month of being pregnant without being in any extra discomfort from standing all day. It’s been nice because I have the time and energy to get the house ready. I am definitely in my nesting stage. I want everything done NOW. We will have everything done and ready by 37 weeks, and then he can come any time after that. Let’s hope he doesn’t go to 42 weeks.
I have been sick for the last week with a sinus infection , I also had strep throat but it has cleared up. So I’ve pretty much been in bed for the last week trying to get better. Lachlan is still doing good, growing more and more every day. He got the hiccups yesterday for the first time that I noticed. It was cute :-) we are getting the house ready for the home birth. We have to order the birthing kit and birthing pool for my water birth. We have a list of about a million things to do between now and when Lachlan comes, I think we’ll be ready. :-)
I haven’t been on here in a while… Oops! We have been very busy with work, birthing class, planning parties and getting ready for this kid! I am at 30 weeks now! Time is flying by so fast, I can’t believe there is only 10 weeks until my due date. We got an ultrasound last week and the tech said Lachlan has almost no wiggle room. He is growing faster then me. Don’t worry, he is fine, just a little cramped. This week I had to go to the chiropractor because he had wedged his feet up under my ribs on my right side, after a week of his feet under my ribs they finally popped out of place. It was very painful to breath or move at all, thank goodness for the chiropractor! He fixed me up and I’ll be going to him every week until I have Lachlan. Well, I’ve got to go, but here is my update! :-)
It has been a busy few weeks for us. We started our birthing class and we are loving it! It’s so educational about what your body is going through during labor and how much work it will do all on its own. We also are going to a couples workshop that is funded by the state. It’s pretty cool, they help you prepare for being a parent and they give you food and money and baby stuff. The best part is its all free!
We have been trying to get lachlans room ready. We have been dragging our feet on it, but it will be ready when he gets here.
Next we need to get the birthing room ready and get a pool for the water-birth along with our birthing kit.
I have to say, as it gets closer and closer, I am looking forward to having an all natural birth in the comfort of my own home. It will be painful and it will be hard work, but it will be a life changing experience that I will never forget.
I honestly think Lachlan has doubled in size in the last week or so. My belly has popped out enough in such a short period of time that people at work, who see me almost everyday, have noticed. He is supposed to be at around 2 pounds now, but I feel like he is bigger lol.
I don’t know what Lachlan thinks he is doing in my tummy, but it feels and looks like cartwheels.
